A Snowbelle Snippet
the tooth and nothing but the tooth

When I was a puppy, before AzGRC saved me, I had 28 little bitsy teeth.  (Kittens only have 26, furr-ther evidence that cats just don’t measure up.)

Now that I’m all grown up, I have 42 teeth (adult cats only have 30 so, again, we have proof!).  Dogs have four big, pointy canine teeth that our ancestors used to seize prey.  There are 12 front teeth in total, six on the top and a matching, smaller set on bottom.  There are 16 premolars and 10 molars to cut, grind and pulverize meat, toys, tennis balls, imported Italian pumps (thanks, Piccolo) and kibble.

It is very important to have regular dental care to prevent infections and a weakened immune system.  I go to for my first cleaning at the vet’s in February.  I will let you know how it goes.
