The Golden Retriever
Foundation (GRF) has announced a $140,000
Stand Together
Challenge Campaign.
Twenty generous donors have pledged to match every
donation, up to $140,000 until September 1, 2010. If
GRF can meet this $140,000 pledge, then a total of
$280,000 will be contributed to help Golden Retrievers.
The GRF was
established in 1997 for the purpose of fostering the
public’s appreciation of dogs in general and Golden
Retrievers in particular; increasing understanding of
the diseases and genetic defects that afflict this
breed; providing educational materials about the proper
care and training of Golden Retrievers; and promoting
the rescue and rehabilitation of displaced Golden
Retrievers.
In the field of Golden
rescue, the GRF provides several types of
financial assistance to rescue organizations. One of
these funds, called the April Fund, reimburses rescue
groups for extraordinary vet expenses. In the past few
years, AZGRC has often been the recipient of the Golden
Retriever Foundation’s April Fund.
